Who needs househelp?

I wont be needing househelp for a long time now. Why? Look at the photos.

The kids have been a great help. They volunteer for household chores with glee. The photos show IC dragging the vaccuum around the kitchen, trying her very best to get all the dust and dirt on the floor. While MC tries her hand in cutting the tomatoes, bell peppers, etc - ingredients for our big dinner that night.

When a friend came for a visit the past week, MC offered the use of her room and she was the only one who cleaned, tidied her toys and prepared her bed for our guest. IC volunteered to clean the living room and she vaccuumed, too! And for the past months, IC and MC's been making their bed all alone; even our bed, without us asking them to do it!

Well, with the kids helping -- it could mean longer time to clean and longer time to cook but no problem as long you are already budgeted your time so that dinner would be cooked and the house is clean when the guests came.

I just wish that they would continue doing this as they grow older. Or is this wishful thinking :)

As long as you continue to encourage them with kind comments and make it a fun activity, I think they will learn to love it even after they've grown older. Partly because it'll be fun, but also because it will be a way to bond with you. :D

God bless!

How nice of your daughters to help you out at home. You've trained them well and I'm sure they will grow up appreciating the hard work you do.

What can I say ? You both educated them well :D ! They learn the value of hard work, helping out and working as a group. Job well done ;).

lionel - i hope they would continue seeing household chores as fun activities :D

rach - trainings are both in kindergarten and at home esp when using a knife. i am still a little afraid to let her handle sharp knives, but MC insisted as she said 'i do that almost everyday in kindergarten.' what else could i say?

haze - there are also rewards when they help, although most rewards are coming from our awaited guests that's why the are so masipag :D

Hi Raq,
Bravo! It's awesome to see your little ladies helping you out. I'm still nervous about Little K using a knife but I should let her help more around the kitchen. The vacuuming, that's a good design for them to handle.

enjoy it while it lasts :)

pero ha according to my notes on children (eh wala pang kids kaya notes lang!) the more you allow them to help - the more they will help kasi it enhances their self esteem and independence. o di ba?

nga pala i-add kita sa links ko, ok lang ba?

KK - same here, am afraid to let them handle knives but since I saw MC confidently helping out in kindergarten with those knives; I let her do it at home, too. am still afraid but sometimes we simply have to let them do it.

vk- am glad to know your mom is better. am praying for her. sa summer, let's meet again :)

wena - mana daw sa mommy, hehehe

rowena - they still enjoy helping me out, and am hoping they would continue doing so. will give the girls kisses from you; and kiss back your kids from us here :)

toni - wow, padagogish pa yan :) but your are right, everytime we let them help; they seem to stand up a head taller!

That's great! Malapit ka ng maging "supervisor mommy" hehehe... Sa bilis ng panahon, pag dalaga na sina MC at IC, parelax-relax na lang beauty mo.

lovelyn, i hope they'd stay masipag. am crossing my fingers :)

You are raising them very well, Raqgold. That's an upside of living abroad without house help, ano? You learn discipline/independence and to pass it on.

Mommy's little helpers are very cute!

Kahit hindi carpeted, vacuum gamit? Mas satisfied ako sa walis tambo :)

annamanila - the kids dont really know about household helpers so it would be normal for them to help out in chores. and there is really a lot of discipline and indepence coz of that.

nina - my husband wants to buy walis tingting and walis tambo in pinas but he'd second thoughts.. kaya vaccuum :D
