As a stay at home mom, this is a question that I never thought I would be asking in the near future and yet, this question's been nagging me since this March.
Where should I bring the kids? This is not about park visits. Nor a selection of playgrounds and amusements parks. This is not about playtime quandary. This is about me 'working' for an hour and I dont know where to bring the kids. I was hoping to find a babysitter, but who would want to babysit for an hour and a half; that is, if I could really find a babysitter that would be okay for the kids. As it is, I am afraid to leave them with strangers at home, well, that's just me, maybe. Or are you quesy like that, too? Actually, we have never had babysitters for the kids, except sometimes their cousins who are very close to them.
Where should I bring the kids? What about opa and oma? Well, they are too old already to be taking care of two bubbly girls; though I am sure they would not say no. But I wouldnt want to be kept on guessing on what is happening while I am supposed to be concentrating on my activity that day. I dont think that would work.
Where should I bring the kids? I simply have to depend on the schedules of their playmates. I decided to ask their moms to take the girls for a few hours, if they could, while I am away for more than an hour. That means, everytime another week starts and before Wednesday comes, I need to have a fix home where I could bring the kids. And I dont want to impose so I try to schedule a day that I could have their kids with us, too.
Where should I bring the kids? That question's been eating me since I started the playtime English course that I accepted in the neighboring town. I mean, that was only an hour and a half that I would be away and yet I dont know where to bring the kids!
Where should I bring the kids? In fact, during the past two Wednesday, I have been bringing the kids with me to the English course. I have decided that I would not make myself crazy looking for a place for the kids, if I dont have anyone for them; then the kids' should stay with me. Now if there are anyone against that, then they would have to find someone else to do the course. My priority: the kids.
Where should I bring the kids? I know I said I am having fun and is learning, too when I started with this playtime English, and having some extra money would be good, too. But I am not accepting having to sacrifice the comfort of my kids. I guess next time I accept another responsibility, I need to do religiously check the following first.
- ask for the complete schedule
- check my calendar of activities, my husband's calendar of activities and the kids' calendar of activities
- and most of all, coincide the scheduled activity when the kids are in kindergarten, so that I would not need to be awating for the weekly helping hand
Where should I bring the kids? In fact, I almost missed IC's birthday because we were supposed to be doing a gymnastics seminar in Baden-Baden this weekend. I am glad my co-trainer decided to call it off because of some hassles with her job. Now, that was 100% stress just because I didnt check my schedule before accepting the seminar dates :(
Where should I bring the kids? They would stay with me :D But still, I cant help but wonder away...

i used to teach english part-time, too (sa fachhochschule --- do inquire in your area, the pay is good!) and my requirement was that the sched would be in such a way that my son would be in the kiga while i work. otherwise, if you hire a baby sitter, parang walaka na ring kinita, haha!
hi ruth, nung una akala ko that short time kaya pa nung mga lolo at lola to babysit, kaso mo hindi na talaga e. my mistake :) tama ka, ang mahal ng babysitter dito. will see about that other part time kapag asa school na ang kids, thanks for the tip.
hi rach,
ganoon din ako noon, i like to work pero ang mga bata,
kung malapit lang sana tayo, i can take care mc n ic...really.
sayang, you have a good job...
tama yon plan mo, try to ask ang schedule mo, fix date n time,
ako rin, i stay at home for 9-10 yrs, until kim in the grade school too....yon nagsimula na ako, para sa sarili ko....
hope you don´t mis-understood this, rach ha?
they needs our care and love....
regards, vk
ay oo nga try to ask or inquire sa Volkhochschule.....
ganoon din ako noon, i have some courses, good din ang payment nila.
malaki din ang per hr. nila or the course payment.....
kaya, if you cant work this time, ok lang yon....makita rin ang wrks.
